FAQs

Do You Accept My Insurance?

We work with most insurance companies including Medicare and are happy to provide you with a complementary insurance benefits check. The treatments and services provided at Garden State Spine & Pain Institute, including acupuncture, are covered by most insurance companies.

What If I Don't Have Insurance?

Because getting you out of pain and on the road to speedy recovery is our foremost priority, we are happy to set up affordable payment plans with interest free financing. As these funds will be used toward medical services, most patients qualify and are approved regardless of prior credit history.

What Are My Payment Options?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and personal checks.

What Do I Wear?

Dress comfortably. At the initial visit we recommend wearing clothes that expose, or allow for exposure of the involved body parts as much as possible. You are welcome to bring a change of clothes with you and change at our facility if needed. Athletic clothes and shoes are a good idea.

Will I Have to Treat Forever?

Though we love each and every patient, we don’t want to see you for the rest of your life!! We have very definitive care plans driven by results oriented progress graphs which we review with our patients as we constantly reassess your condition. Once progress on the graph plateaus, we know that we have reached maximal medical improvement and the patient is discharged. As a general rule, it is estimated that it takes one month of care for each year that a patient has suffered with a problem.

Does Treatment with the Chiropractor, Physical Therapist or Acupuncturist Hurt?

Treatment, which include adjustments and physiotherapy, such as electrical muscle stimulation and ultrasound, rarely hurt and usually feels good. Some patients experience soreness at the beginning of care which is likened to the soreness from working out in the gym.

What Can I expect When I Visit the Office?

  • Welcome
  • Consultation
  • Examination
  • X-Ray Studies
  • Report of Findings
  • Treatment
  • Wellness
Welcome

Upon entering our office our team will greet and welcome you like a member of the family, will take you for a tour of the wellness facility, and will offer you a bottle of water. We then request you fill out our patient information forms which provide us with general information about yourself and your condition.

Consultation

Next you will have a consultation with Dr. Raj to discuss your health-related problems, and concerns. Some patients require pain management intervention, physical therapy, chiropractic, or a combination of services. After figuring out how your health problem can be best addressed, Dr. Raj will then introduce you to the appropriate physician for examination and diagnosis of your problem. Your first visit is designed for our team of professionals to learn more about you and your condition so we can determine how to best help you.

Examination

After your consultation, our doctors will perform a complete examination testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations.

X-Ray Studies

A picture says a thousand words. X-rays help us develop an effective treatment plan for you and help us rule out more serious conditions. Once we explain to our patients what x-rays show, most patients can immediately identify areas of arthritis and often understand why they are getting pain.

Report of Findings

Once all the information and examinations have been performed, our team of professionals meet to discuss and decide on the best plan of care. Does the patient need physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, pain management or a combination of the above? If you have a condition that requires care with multiple providers, the doctor will discuss the benefits of the team approach.
The doctor will then deliver a full report of findings and answer the three most popular questions:
1.Can you help me?
2.What do you recommend for me to get better?
3.How much is it going to cost?

Treatment

Treatment will consist of physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture or where medically necessary, a combination of the above services. We approach the musculoskeletal system conservatively. However, should the degree of pain warrant medical intervention, our medical department is ready to assist with medicine, intramuscular injections, joint injections, epidural injections, facet block injections and nerve blocks. Our team of professionals are able to handle musculoskeletal ailments from head to toe.

Wellness Program

Prior to leaving, patients will be introduced to Focus Fitness Exercise Salon, a gym located in the same wellness facility, and are shown specific exercises and are instructed on how to use the equipment in the gym in hopes of the patient continuing their muscular rehabilitation following discharge. If you desire an overall wellness lifestyle, our wellness team will work with you to create good habits and routines that support your success. Every body is unique and different and therefore everyone requires a unique and customized wellness plan. The foundation of our overall wellness lifestyle is maintaining healthy posture and good spinal alignment, eating a healthy diet, taking supplements, keeping your weight under control and stress relief.
